ECI celebrate Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise at St James Park event

A great meeting at the Park

On Thursday March 17, the Exeter Community Initiative held a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise celebration event at St James Park.

Hosted in the Trust Suite, Chief Executive Officer at ECI Steven Chown has shown his appreciation for the Trust's support in the organisation.

"I'd like to thank both Nick Hawker and Elaine Davis for the fantastic support in delivering the VCSE Celebration Event last Thursday. In particular Nick for the warm welcome and Elaine for all her efforts supporting the team behind the scenes.

"There was a real buzz of excitement and we have had lots of positive feedback."

Labour Councillor Ruth Williams of Mincinglake and Whipton attended the event.

"Congratulations to Steven and his team for yesterday’s hugely successful event - the high attendance at both sessions and buzz in the room tells it all!

"I found the exhibitions very informative and the networking sessions worked really well. A bit of feedback - I bumped into an attendee on my way to catch a train this morning and she remarked how great the event was and that it left her uplifted and full of ideas how to expand her own involvement in voluntary community work."

Chair of the ECI Board of Trustee's Tim Goodwin took his hat off to the Exeter Connect team.

"Congratulations and many thanks for the excellent event last night. It was truly a celebration of Exeter’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. It was also a showcase for ECI ability to convene a diverse audience and create a platform for building social capital though out our community.

"I enjoyed the presentation and the chance to make new contacts and renew old ones. Please extend my pride and appreciation to the entire team. "

The Trust are delighted to have been able to offer the venue for the evening as it encapsulates what we aspire to be as a community club, in the heart of the community.
