Are you a creative communicator with a passion for storytelling, social media, and community engagement? Exeter City Supporters' Trust is looking for a talented Media & Communications Officer to take the lead on our digital presence, connect with our loyal members, and champion the voice of the Trust.
Role Overview (Part-Time) You’ll be at the centre of our content strategy. Planning, creating, and publishing across our platforms to keep our members informed and engaged. From social media to newsletters, multimedia content to media queries, you’ll help shape the narrative of The Trust and its impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Planning & Creation:
Develop and implement a content plan aligned with the trust’s goals and key messages.
Create, edit, and publish engaging social media posts across relevant platforms (e.g. Facebook, X, Instagram).
Prepare multimedia content, including images, graphics, and short videos, to enhance engagement.
Ensure all content aligns with The Trust’s tone of voice and brand guidelines.
Social Media Management:
Schedule and publish posts consistently.
Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
Track performance metrics and provide regular reports on engagement and growth.
Ensure that all content shared across social media, digital channels, and the website complies with copyright laws and Trust brand guidelines. This includes securing the appropriate licences for images, music, video, and any third-party materials.
Query Management:
Act as the first point of contact for media inquiries and public queries.
Coordinate with internal teams to provide accurate and timely responses.
Maintain a log of media interactions and responses.
Newsletters & Email Communication:
Plan, write, and distribute a weekly newsletter to engage supporters and members.
Source and compile relevant stories, updates, and upcoming events.
Manage the email list, ensuring GDPR compliance and effective segmentation.
Collaboration & Strategy:
Work with the wider team to align media activities with The Trust’s overall marketing and communication strategies.
Stay up to date with social media trends and industry best practices.
Identify new opportunities for audience engagement and growth.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in media, communications, or marketing, preferably in the non-profit or trust sector.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail.
Proficiency in social media platforms, scheduling tools, and content management systems.
Experience with email marketing platforms is desirable.
Ability to create and edit visual content using design tools
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently within a part-time schedule.
Desirable Skills:
Basic knowledge of SEO and analytics.
Familiarity with media relations and PR practices.
Experience in copywriting and editing for different audiences.
Knowledge on Exeter City and the Supporters' Trust
