Welcome to the Supporters' Trust

Updated: Nov 26, 2020

The Trust would like to provide a warm welcome and introduction to our new membership secretary, Celia Lowman.

Following advertising the post the Trust received an exceptionally strong field of candidates. We would like to record our sincere thanks to everyone who applied.

In taking on the role, Celia follows in the footsteps of two superb stalwarts of the Trust in Clive Matthews and Frank Sealey, and has already hit the ground running in meeting with the Trust Board and members of our various working groups.

From the off, Celia's energy and enthusiasm for the Supporters' Trust and putting member interest first has already proved very positive, and she looks forward to engaging with existing and potential members alike in the weeks and months to come.

Celia, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her role as director of Office Software Limited, was born in Germany and came to Exeter in 2007. For many years she has been a fan of Borussia Mönchengladbach and so is extremely familiar with the German model, which has had the mandatory 50+1 supporter ownership rule in place since 1998.

Since arriving in Exeter, Celia has been attending games at the Park with her family, and has enjoyed being able to meet with other families and having the opportunity to make friends through the Club.

She also has a longstanding connection with the club as her uncle, Hedley Steele, made several first team appearances for the Grecians in the 1970s.

Speaking of her appointment, Celia said: "I am absolutely delighted to be actively involved in delivering and developing the operation of the Supporters' Trust. I have experience of looking after people and attracting clients with my own software company and aim to use these skills as membership secretary. I also hope to utilise my knowledge of German football and engage in further research to see what we might take from that model for the benefit of the Trust and Exeter City Football Club."

This is a huge appointment for our members and we wish Celia well at the start of what we hope will be a long and successful relationship.
