Trust Statement: Richard Pym

February 2, 2026

Richard Pym, the chair of Exeter City Football Club, has resigned from his role.

Richard leaves with the Club and Trust’s grateful thanks. He has made a vital contribution towards securing the future of the football club. This includes significant progress since he returned to support the Club during the autumn of 2025 and subsequently stepped into the role of chair in November. His expertise has helped to place the Club on a more stable financial footing.

His contribution has included finalising the agreement for forward financing of deferred transfer payments and the creation of a plan for subsequent loan support. The proposed Rights Issue set out by Richard will also provide a clear path for increasing the Trust’s shareholding in the Club and would provide opportunities for new investment in the Club.

Laurence Overend will take over as interim Club Chair whilst the Club undertakes the appointment of a new chair.
